John, well done organizing the Felton Raceway and NEHRA archive. It is a great tribute to the late Dave Hoy, the artist, editor and incredibly enthusiatic force behind the NEHRA and Felton. North-East England was a cold, windy and dull place back in the early Seventies, and it was Dave's ambition to transform it into Southern California through Hot-Rodding and drag-racing, preferably with his beloved 'Pie-Wagon' E93A Ford vans. He certainly brightened all our lives. He did all the hand-drawn artwork for the early Claremont Corvette adverts, the newsheets and one of my first Corvette books and I have carefully kept it all. He drew superb tinted pen & ink sketches of my favourite cars, my Corvette 2-Rotor, my 64 Impala Convertible, the 60 Sunliner and even my wife's Citroen 2CV AZ van, and they all still hang in our kitchen. He could draw any car that he liked in perfect perspective and exactly correct proportion from memory, a rare talent. It was so sad when he died so young, and we all miss him. Please keep up the good work! Tom Falconer
