Album Description:
I spent a week in Portland, OR at a conference in August. I hadn't been there since the late 70's when I lived in nearby Vancouver for 2 yrs. I did some traveling to see some of my favorite places from back then. See "Glimpses of a Lifetime, vol. 4" album

Thanks for sharing these pictures of Mount St. Helens and the area around it. I probably will never get to see it in person, so I really enjoyed your pictures. It's nice to see how the land is recovering. Lois from Utah

Hi Mike: Such an interesting report! We are happy to see how the environs of St.Helens look at present. Our last (let's say: unique) visit was in 1982, i.e. two years after the big eruption. Many roads still closed; but a relatively near approach was nevertheless feasible. We were impressed by the devastation. But also by the frequent earthquakes. No doubt: one of the "big events" of our visits to the USA! - Thanks for your interesting report! But also for your GE of Jan.3., on our recent flight to Geneva and back! Best wishes: Kaethi and Henri
