Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_man and also www.burningman.com - all will be answered there. it's SO WORTH DOING! Physically it's a very hard week due to the 40oC temperatures and the alkaline desert dust, but the payoff is SO worth it!!! Until you've witnessed the Playa at night, or sunset over the Temple, or cycling in the early morning to all the huge art installations, then you've just NOT lived!
