  • Great observation, Mary Ann. My explanation for this difference between the Protestant and the Catholic belief lies in Mathew 28:13 "And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." While both religions believed in the Ascention, the Catholics believe Jesus never left them. He resides in the Holy Sacrament that the Catholic partakes during mass. Hence, you'll won't see an empty crucifix in the Catholic churches.

  • Noticeable in most Protestant churches or chapels (and your album shows this, too) is the unoccupied crucifix - symbolic of the risen Christ who now resides both in heaven and in the hearts of true Christian believers. The simple & clean lines in your photos seem to point to this simple truth - that Jesus is the Way, the Truth & the Life, and that He, too, is the Alpha & the Omega (beginning & end)! Ding, thank you for sharing this simple yet lovely album that seem to reveal a lot more than what meets the eye. A happy, healthy & hopeful New Year to you and your kin! God bless. ~~~Mary Ann
