    • While this camper is a budget model according to Jayco, it's actually more full featured than many 'ultra light' campers. It has a DSI Gas/Electric water heater where most do not include Electric. It has a large 2 door refrigerator where most offer only a single door refrigerator. It offers an oven with stove where most just offer a stove. It comes with 30 lbs propane tanks where many just offer 20 lbs propane tanks. It also offers a DVD player and game console shelf in addition to an area for a TV to be placed. Many only offer a TV area. It also has this area next to the stereo so you can have your TV playing through the stereo. In addition the roof is taller to add more room and makes taking a shower just as easy as at home. Many campers had low ceilings requiring a sky lite for showers. Not comfortable having your head in the sky lite and needing to bend over to wash your hair. While not considered the better, the none ducted air conditioner allows the installation of the manufacturers heat element for a 5600 BTU electric heater. Ducted Air conditioners can not have an electric element installed. There is also a mirror on the front wall that many campers don't offer. This is very useful for a numerous reasons besides giving the illusion the space is larger. The '08 model didn't offer the overhead cabinets over the couch which was a good idea for this size of trailer. The added cabinets give a more closed in feeling while offering little more storage space due to the slant of the front wall. This camper was a couple thousand less than the ultra lites I was considering but is loaded with high end features that those more expensive trailers lacked.

    • Dads camper and my first camper when I was 9, is now gone. My camper had to sit where it was (needed room for the dumpster for the roof tear off), for my roof to be redone. Since the old Shasta needed repairs and no family member wanted it, it went to Cars For Kids Charity. Being it needed some roof work, cleaning, new curtains and material for the goucho and dinette, not to mention a new matress for the folding double bunk bed, needed brake/axle/hub work, water heater and furnace work, needed new propane tank, needed water tank replaced, and had no air conditioner or way of adding one without major rework, it wasn't a camper that many wanted. We simply didn't have the time to see if a restorer would had been interested. Mainly to my Dad not having enough time to invest in finding someone who would want a vintage trailer. However it will be auctioned so it may still land in the hands of a restorer. Good bye, good ole, short trailer!!
