  • Dear Ding, I had a great time looking through each Ford Model T vintage car (Oh my, there are a lot of them here!). How wonderful to see them still in their mint condition, and apparently still running at all as seen in this parade. But of course I enjoyed watching the kites most. Your single capture of father & son bonding moment is most precious. It tugged my heart and evoked a big "Ahhhh!" from me when I first saw it! Oh, I love that singular shot, along with the many colorful kites that are just indicative of the flying kite event - colorfully FUN! ~~~Mary Ann

  • 61st Annual Ocean Beach Kiwanis Kite Parade: Saturday March 7, 2009, Time: 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM, Admission: Free Location: Ocean Beach Elementary School (Newport Ave.) - Sunset Cliffs Blvd. - Santa Monica Ave. - Abbot St. - the beach Children of Ocean Beach will create colorful hand-made kites (with some assistance), have them judged for awards, and proudly show them off in a parade by marching them to the beach where they will be flown in a mass kite fly.
