Murphy was found as a stray and his time was up at the shelter but in the nick of time ESRA was notified about him and he is now safe and happy in his new foster home. He looked like he had been on his own for awhile as his coat was matted and dirty so the groomer shaved him down but before you know it he will have his beautiful, long Springer coat back! Murphy is a typical Springer in that he loves people and has especially attached himself to the young adult son at his foster home and follows him everywhere and sleeps in his room at night. He does well with the 2 resident dogs but doesn't really seem interested in playing with them but that may change over time and he ignores the resident cat. The first time he had to be left alone his foster mom put him in a crate but left the door to the back yard open with the screen closed, well Murphy decided he would rather go outside so he somehow got out of the crate and opened the screen door. Murphy now just stays loose in the house with the other dogs when nobody is home and he does just fine although he does need work on no counter surfing (seems he stole a birthday cake off the counter and the 3 dogs had a party while everyone was gone)! Murphy is a calm boy, walks well on the leash and knows sit, down, stay and shake…quite a smart boy! He is also housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on his vaccinations. Murphy will make some lucky family a wonderful pet and companion!
