Age: 8 years Gender: Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 41 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-bred Chappy was picked up as a stray on Nov 28 by Kern County Animal Control in Bakersfield,Ca. He was listed as a Spaniel mix but in reality is a beautiful Show bred purebred Springer. He arrived here in our foster home on Dec 6th. Once we cleaned him up and had his nails trimmed (they were about 1"long) he turned into the most beautiful representation of the Show /Bench Bred Springer we've had the pleasure to foster. Other than a minor ear infection and in need of a dental cleaning he is in excellent health. He acts much younger than his guesstimated age. Now that he is up to date on all his vaccinations,negative on his heartworm test,teeth sparkling clean and microchipped he is ready to adopt. As an added bonus Chappy is totally housetrained,gets along very well with the two resident dogs and Chance,our other foster,and the cats. Riding in the car is a pleasure.He walks well on a leash and the groomer said he was teriffic. Everyone that meets him loves his disposition and temperament and thinks he is adorable. He does do a little shadow chasing but it is far from compulsive. The pictures I took are the best ones I could get as he is terrified of a camera. God only know what life was like in his past and why he wasn't claimed at the shelter but his former's owner's loss is surely his new forever family's gain ! He should have a stay at home person due to his separation anxiety, shadow chasing idiosyncrasy.
