Fenton split headers and an upgrade to a Holly/Weber carb allowed the little 235 cid engine to breath better and I'm pleased to say that she cruises along at 65mph in 5th gear at 2000 rpm...stops great....can be seen at night and is really fun to drive. The last step in Phase 3 is a complete rebuild for a 1960-235cid engine I stumbled onto....a low-end torque cam and Offenhauser dual carb intake with a pair of Carter/Weber 2 barrels and HEI distributor should finish off the running gear upgrades. My goal is to be able to get 20 mpg, add an a/c system and to enjoy the fruits of my labor. I hope you enjoy my pictures....and maybe you will be inspired to save one of these old trucks from the crusher!!!
