I can't tell her what my life was like before I got to her home. All she knows is that I survived being lost on the streets, picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter - a really scary place. It amazed her that I survived because I'm hard of hearing and blind. I was very shy at first but now I'm happy, comfortable and waiting patiently for my forever home where I'll get lots of love and attention like here. Here's what my foster mom has to say: Sophie is an ideal Springer. She has no bad habits and just wants to be with me all the time. When she first came here she was shy and found a dog bed in my office where she stayed most of the time for a few days as her safe zone. She gradually came out to join the rest of us and, with lots of love, is now comfortable and confident. Sophie is house trained and would do fine with a doggie door. She sleeps on my bed with the resident Springers. She talks for her dinner and often almost demands attention - what a change from when she first came! She enjoys walks and is good on a leash. She's also good in cars. Being blind hasn't affected Sophie's quality of life. Watching her personality emerge and evolve here has been amazing and heartwarming. She's started to play with toys and jumps up on an easy chair by herself! Sophie is spayed, up to date on shots and heartworm negative.
