1995-96 Vancouver Canucks Alexander Mogilny home. #89, CCM size 54. Light wear, assorted stick/puck marks. MGG and team LOA's. Drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 5th round, 89th overall in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, Mogilny was the first Soviet player to defect to the West. Winner one Stanley Cup(2000), he is a veteran of 16 seasons in the NHL. Twice voted to NHL Second Team All-Star (1993 and 1996), the first Russian to be included on the NHL All-Star Team, he was named to play in a total of five NHL All-Star Games (1992, 1993, 1994, 1996 and 2001). Winner of the 2003 NHL Lady Byng Memorial Trophy (Most Sportsmanlike), he suited up with the Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs. Ranking among the games All Time leaders in many offensive categories, he played in 990 games, scoring 473 goals (50th NHL All Time), 559 assist (91st NHL All Time), 1032 points (66th NHL All Time, 1.04 PPG), +81 and 432 PIM's. Internationally, he has played for his homeland at the World Junior Championships in 1987, 1988 and 1989, and the World Championships in 1989, at the World Cup in 1997 and is a one time Olympian, winning the Gold Medal in 1988.
