I am a handsome purebred male field liver and white English Springer Spaniel. My family bought me when I was six weeks old, so I was separated from my littermates too early and have not learned all of the proper social skills that I should have learned from my mother and during play with my littermates. My family never worked with me on obedience training and they could not understand why I was so wild. They neutered me when I was eight months old, but when that did not calm me down, they chose to get rid of me. I do not understand why. I am a sweetheart and am just a puppy that loves to play. Since being in foster care, I have learned to sit, down, am working on not counter surfing, and I do know what NO means. I will do anything and everything to get a treat. I also know that when you ask me if I need to go potty, if I need to go, I should go to the door and wait patiently to go out. I thrive on positive training and reinforcements. Since I am all boy and all puppy, I do need to be supervised at all times. I love to play and everything is a toy for me. I also love to play with other dogs. I have a tendancy to get too wild and do not know when to stop, but with the proper guidance and supervision, I can learn the proper way to play with other dogs and puppies. If you cannot have your eye on me, please put me in my crate. I thrive on having boundaries, and do understand that rest and quiet times are to take place in my crate. I am not yet leashed trained, so I am very strong when you try to walk me. I am currently stronger than my foster mother, so she is not able to work with me on my leash training. I need someone who can handle an energetic 46 pound puppy, and someone who has the time, attention, and patience to give me. Because I get excited when around other dogs, I would benefit from private obedience classes at first before going to group obedience classes. I need a loving home that will definitely have an alpha human who is not afraid to lay down the line yet will still love me and give me tons of love and attention. I may do ok with children, but I love to give kisses and tend to forget that running up and jumping on someone will knock them over. I need a home that will give me a lot of room to run and play and get out my energy. I am very quick to learn and aim to please, but I will need someone patient enough to deal with my puppy behaviors. As long as I have to work for everything (even a pat on the head), I will be happy and aim to please. If you give me unlimited freedom, I will be overwhelmed and not know what to do with all of that freedom. I am a little jealous of sharing my human with other dogs, but I can be taught that two dogs can be loved by the same person at the same time. Please consider giving me a forever home.
