Age: 5 years Gender: Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 45 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-bred Georgie is a rags-to-riches story in progress. He came to us from the shelter in bad shape. Despite his coat being so matted that his collar had to be cut off, Georgie had a happy personality. Despite ear infections that surpassed the worst bacterial infections we'd seen so far, Georgie was content to have the vet fiddle with his ears and take care of him. Georgie seems to know that we're all here to help. He is a sweetheart, who loves to be loved. His foster mom says that he'd love it if you could just keep an hand on him all the time, or if he could just be leaning on you 24/7. He is very affectionate and mellow. Right now he'd rather not be alone much and is a Velcro companion around the home. He is doing very well with the resident Springer and seems to seriously enjoy having a canine companion. The boys in the household are age 10 and 11 and Georgie is awesome with them. We have not tested him with cats yet. Georgie is OK on a leash and knows the basics such as Sit and No. He has so much fun on walks, as it's sensory overload and there is so much to see and smell! He is housetrained. Right now he does not like to be kenneled but we are checking that out. He prefers to be with the dog and his people when possible. Georgie needs a 6 foot rather than 4 foot fence as he is very agile and athletic and has no problem jumping in the car or anywhere else. Georgie's health is steadily improving. He took awhile to get neutered because his trachea was irritated (either from kennel cough or the ill-fitting collar). His ears are clearing up amazingly and responding well to treatment. He is now up to date on everything. The picture I'm posting is after an initial mini-grooming session. He's been groomed recently and more pictures will be coming. Georgie is a very nice, patient and gentle dog who loves to have a good time. He would be a wonderful part of an active family who can give him lots of attention.
