Album Info:
The tiny Island is Green island. The father of a friend swam out to it one Christmas morning many years ago, and was late getting back for Christmas dinner. I wouldn't try it. The waters here are notorious for sharks.

I can't imagine swimming that far in shark infested waters! It is an intriguing image Kelvin! A 13 second exposure gives it a mysterious silky look, it is quite beautiful!

Absolutely as per the book with the horizon perfectly placed. A great experiment that has worked well.

Swam to the island and back. How far is that? I can't even swim one length of a swimming pool.

Long exposures sure tend to 'flatten' out the waters. I would not go where I knew sharks are present!

This is just fabulous to be able to see an island out in the ocean! Not often the case on the Atlantic Ocean in Florida--just the horizon and large ships! Stunning shot. I wonder how far it is to that island? Even if I could swim, I wouldn't want to mess with the sharks.

Wow! The same island like in the first shot in the background. Did you use a "softmake filter"? The water looks so soft. And no shark is seen there.

Exposure: 13 sec ?! Whow, that IS long! But certainly worth it. Love the sense of tranquility it conveys. And yes, I'd try the swim, too - but only in a shark cage :-))

I guess the challenge was there for a long time and he finaly took it. We look at our local area and just keep on exploring, further and further afield. Lovely DOF and exposure, beautiful tones.

Dangerous with the sharks, but looks peaceful with the silken waters. Wow! That was one long swim! Much too long for me.
