Gelato is Italy’s version of ice cream. It is so popular in Milan. You will see lots of locals - OL, guys/girls … having gelato on the street midday / evening. You may have heard that gelato is healthier. That is because gelato is made with milk and not heavy cream, no eggs either, thereby creating a lowfat product. Typically ice cream ranges from 18% - 26% butterfat while gelato is under 10%. Further gelato is served at a warmer temperature than ice cream. This enables the flavor to be tasted immediatley. I have tried the gelato twice so far! With around 2 euros, you already get a big truck of gelato! I really like its richer and fuller flavor; and the dense and creamy texture!
