Age: 18 months Gender: Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 43 lbs Variety: Bench Bred Jeremiah started his heartworm treatment after gaining almost 10 pounds. The doctor is very pleased with his progress. This once very scared boy is learning that life can be good. He loves everyone. He attended 2 ESRA events the weekend before he started HW treatment. He met all kinds of people. He played with kids of all ages. He is still very young and rambunctious. Children 8 and over will probably be best for him. He has requested a home with a fenced yard because he loves to run and play with tennis balls. He also requested a swimming pool, but I told him he was being a bit demanding. So he settled for a small doggie pool. He learned from his foster brother Bernie what fun water can be. Jeremiah is more confident but can still be frightened of new experiences. He would love a patient new family. He is a sensative boy that wants to please and be gently loved. He loves to lean on your legs and give hugs! We will keep you updated on his treatment progress. Jeremiah came to ESRA via a shelter in South Carolina. He weighed 37 pounds and was so very thin. He had severely infected ears and we couldn't even get close to him or touch him very much for a couple of weeks. It took everything we had to get him to the vet for a thorough check up and treatment for his ears. This poor boy had to be completely put under for ear treatment :( Jeremiah is heatworm positive and will be starting treatment next week. He has gained almost 7 pounds and has learned that life is pretty great in foster care. Jeremiah has calmed down and now knows what it means to be loved, have a great meal and lots of attention. He loves to swim in the baby pool with his foster brother and sister. They see who can put all the tennis balls in the pool. He gets along with every dog he meets...no matter male or female, big or small.
