She is an active dog who would love a family to interact with. She was relinquished from a family with kids who didn't feel they had time for her, and she spent a lot of time in the yard. We'd like to find a placement where she could get the love and attention she needs. Maddy loves other dogs and needs a home with another dog to play with. She is fine with other dogs and cats. She enjoys gentle kids. Fetch is a favorite activity. She loves to play in the small plastic kiddie pool and romp in the yard. She is also OK staying inside with another dog while you are gone. She needs chews as she can be a chewer. She loves natural chews and nylabones and she is content. We were happy to find out that Maddy is in good health. She is spayed and up to date on everything. She has a natural coat and it is in good condition. She is tall for being field-bred, but has the energy and curiosity of a fieldie. She is a quick learner and knows Sit, Down, and Stay. She is learning to Heel. Maddy enjoys lounging on the couch and cuddling. She rides well in the car, loose, as she does not like crates. Maddy is a bit fearful. She hates the crate, and is petrifed of loud noises. She startles easily. Although she likes birds, she would not be a good dog for hunting. She does not like to be corrected if you use a loud voice, and will go down on her back and then seem upset. She needs someone with a soft approach and positive discipline. She is very sensitive. Our requirements for Maddy's new home are: another dog, time and exercise, a fenced yard, and a kiddie pool to play in. An active family who would include her in all the family activities would be ideal.
