Album Info:
Age: 7 years Gender: Female Color: Liver/White Weight: 48 lbs. Variety: Field-bred Chelsie would love to be someone's special girl and she could return the affection happily. She is a very mellow dog and would do well with an older person. She is well mannered and well trained, and is quite affectionate and stays by your side. Being the only dog would be fun for Chelsie. Another dog would be just fine, as long as there are two people in the household. Sometimes Chelsie does not like to have to compete for attention. She prefers if she and the other dog can be petted at the same time. She is very very sweet even towards the resident dog, Dallas, too. She sometimes goes to where Dallas is sleeping and lays down right next to him and licks his whole face. She prefers quiet time to playing and would appreciate a dog that was not rambunctious. She is truly an indoor dog, unless you are outside, too. She is very good inside the house. She loves people and she doesn't like to be outside in the backyard even Dallas is running around there. She just wants to stay right next to someone. She follows her foster mom everywhere she goes. Chelsie is extremely affectionate and would lick her hand forever if she had a chance. Chelsie has some noise anxiety. It may take awhile for her to get used to unfamiliar sound. She may never get used to thunder or 4th of July fire works since they don't happen as frequently. She has a good prey drive so should not be around cats or other small animals. Young children would be too much, but children about 8 and up would be great. If the child knows how to pet gently and is good with dogs, Chelsie would just love them. Chelsie would do best with someone experienced with Springers. She responds well to a stronger authority figure and minds very well. A calm, assertive leader with a stable, secure environment would be best. She is quite well-trained, but she loves to counter surf and we've been working on that. Otherwise, when it comes to riding in the car, or walking on a leash, or coming when called, etc. Chelsie does well. She does not jump, she does not beg, she does not dig, etc. There were a few health issues that we dealt with in the beginning, such as a bladder infection and ##### glands that were getting too full. Chelsie is now in great health, with a recent dental, up to date on everything, at her perfect weight, with a gorgeous coat and a spring in her step. She is lower in activity but every once in awhile she loves to run! Chelsie has had a rough time with a lot of transition. Here is what we know of her history. Two years ago, a lady adopted her and everything was great until she got engaged to someone in the armed forces and moved across the country. That's how ESRA got Chelsie. Then Chelsie, in the 3rd placement that we know about, a foster-to-adopt scenario, had a bad situation with a young boy. So then she went to her 4th home, a foster home where she is now. Her foster mom has taken a lot of time to truly get to know Chelsie and can give you a very good description of Chelsie. She wants Chelsie to find her Forever Home where she is loved and cherished and happy. She is such a sweet dog with such a strong desire to please, and she will be someone's special girl.
