Age: 6 months Gender: Female Color: Black/White Weight: 39 lbs Variety: Field-Bred Six month old Chloe came from a farm in southern Illinois. Her mom was a stray who was taken in by a nice family. She promptly presented them with a litter of puppies and Chloe is the last one of those puppies looking for a home. Chloe is a black and white field-bred Springer with a beautiful full tail with a white tip. She weighs 39 pounds and is spayed, heartworm negative and up to date on all her vaccinations. Since she is in a kennel at this time, she may need a refresher course on housetraining. but she is very smart and will catch on quickly. Because she had spent a lot of time playing in the fields she picked up a lot of nasty ticks. This poor girl had over 35 ticks on her when she first came in. They were everywhere - in her ears, nose and on her muzzle, as well as on the rest of her body. Chloe isn't showing any ill effects of the tick infestation, but because of the diseases that ticks can carry; she is on antibiotics and will be fine. Chloe didn't know how to walk on a leash when she first came into rescue. In fact, she just went limp when you put on her leash. She had to be carried. Now, after two weeks, she is a great leash walker. She doesn't pull and just likes to walk next to your legs. She will sit for treats and loves to chase squeaky balls. She knows her basic commands like no, off and leave it. She also knows stay and come, but she is still very much a puppy and doesn't always listen. She is very affectionate and will give kisses, likes to get her tummy rubbed and to go for walks. She is friendly with all people, including children. She seems to like other dogs, but she hasn't had much opportunity to play with them so of course introductions should also be made gradually and preferably in neutral territory.
