Album Info:

Ready to meet the 21st century, this old girl is sporting new body panels, glass, T5 overdrive transmission, IROC-Z posi/disc differential, front discs, all new interior with sound deadening effects, new rubber and much more. Every nut and bolt on this truck was checked, tweaked, and hopefully, it will be as dependable as it was when it came to life 52 years ago....with some major improvements that will make it safe on today's highways. I've always loved trucks!! I guess it stems from my childhood when I grew up with a family fleet of Chevy trucks that put bread on our table. My Dad was a confirmed GM driver....Chevy's were our trucks and Buicks were our cars. He only owned 2 Fords in his entire life...one being a 36 Ford convertible and the other a demure little Ford wagon. On the other hand, I tried the GM brand....yes a Corvair, which I loved and a Vega which I didn't, but I chose Ford Vans and trucks as they were, IMHO, far superior in structural integrity than the GM versions. Now that I've reached that stage in my life where I can do exactly what I want to do...or drive what I want, I find myself sitting behind the wheel of the same year truck that my Dad used when he taught me how to drive. I guess I bought it on a whim....my knowledge base is basically FoMoCo...so I needed to start a whole new "learning curve". Once I got started on the project...I discovered why my Dad was such a devoted Chevy truck fan. These old trucks are basically bullet-proof....although not "rust-proof". So much of my time and energy was devoted to correcting 50 some years of exposure to the elements. But first my plan: (next picture)
