Variety: Field-bred Sassy arrived here on Sunday Sept 16th via one of our volunteers.She had been pulled from a shelter just prior to her put-to-sleep date.Her former owners never came to retrieve her after having done so on at least 3 prior occasions. All we knew about her was that she was an escape artist. What I CAN say about her is she is one sweet little dog.She loves human companionship and belly rubs are her favorite. She lays on her back and if you stop, paws the air for you to continue. Her whole body shakes and shimmies with excitement when she greets you.What a happy joyfull and appreciative dog she is. At no time ,since being here, has she tried to escape.It is unknown what type area or how she was escaping prior to her arriving.She has not dug at all while here either. We have a 6' wooden fence so any adopters will have to have a comparable secure yard. Her interaction with our 2 resident dogs AND cats is a pleasure to see.She loves to play in the yard in Springer fashion but is calm as can be in the house. An added plus is she was housetrained and uses a doggie door.No counter surfing,jumping up on you or other bad habits have been noticed. Sassy loves children and rides very well in the car She was vetted today and given a clean bill of health.All vacinations ,heartworn test(neg.),and microchipping have been completed and she will be available for adoption on Sunday,the 23rd. The only bad thing she does is pull on a leash like a Sled Dog.Whoever adopts will have to continue with her leash training which will result in her becoming the perfect little lady.
