Album Info:

Age: 18 months Gender: Female Color: Liver/White Weight: 40 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-bred Beautiful little one year old Lucy is a lover girl with lots of energy! She is curious and loves to explore new things, dogs and people! Although she is just one, she is fairly calm for a young girl and will curl up with you to watch a movie or sit by your feet if you are working. She has beautiful and expressive brown eyes! She loves to eat anything! And we mean that! She will eat fruit and vegetables as well as her Dynamite kibble. She loves everything! She has no medical problems and just came in with a sad face and some flaky skin. We assume that is due to a bad diet as she has cleared up and is a soft and beautiful girl with lots of freckles! We discovered how much Lucy loves to swim after taking her to our off leash beach and she just jumped right in...although we think it was her first time as she dog-paddled very high in the water and was all arms and legs until a few more sessions. She will go after and follow the swallows for hours so we are working on commands to bring her back to shore. Because she is so fascinated by the birds, we are trying to get her to listen better so she doesn't go swimming down the river. She is learning her commands quickly. Lucy is in an active foster home where the foster mom works from home. Every morning, she takes Lucy and foster sister Gracie to the dog park. Lucy loves this time more than anything. She runs and explores and plays and has the best time ever. We hope that Lucy's new family will continue the morning exercise with her. Lucy had barked at a few children at the shelter. We had her meet a young girl (age 11) who had adopted one of our rescue springers, and Lucy loved this girl. However, when she saw some young boys later, she was very agitated. So we are going to be working through her fear of certain children. We also feel that she will do best in a home without young children. Also, a home where any contact with children is carefully supervised and there are nice, dog-savvy older kids she can continue to interact with. Despite this fear of some children, she is never scared of adults. All strangers are her friends and she performed wonderfully for two behavioral assessments. Lucy is not an aggressive dog. We just feel that something unfortunate happened with a child. She loves other dogs and grown-ups but no cats for Lucy! We discovered that immediately when she met a friend's cat. She sleeps well through the night and is totally housetrained although she needs to go out often because she is still a puppy. She is very energetic and needs a family who is prepared to work with such a young dog. Lucy hails from Tacoma. She was a stray in the shelter at 9 months old. The shelter adopted her out to a great family. Then, she showed up as a stray again, and the contact information for the adopters was no longer good. So the shelter wanted us to find a great Foverer Home for Lucy. She is full of love, life and joy and wants to find her Forever Family! She will need a family who has one parent at home or works from home due to her age and high energy.
