Album Info:
Samuel S. Gresham was manager of a general store and postmaster of Newtown when he built his house in 1845. Seven years later he enlarged the house by adding the section on the east and raising the roof to two full stories. Later an addition increased the length of the structure by adding a one-story wing to the west side of the house. It is known locally as the Turpin House and is part of the Newtown Historic Distric.
