These trusses support all the second-deck seating areas. This kind of construction is what allowed stadiums (including the current Yankee Stadium) to "hang" upper decks over lower ones without front supports, so they could remove the vertical poles that blocked views in older parks (and still do at Fenway). UPDATE: I do believe that plate you see at the bottom left of the truss, fastening various girders together, is a "gusset plate," the part that authorities now suspect to have failed in the Minneapolis bridge collapse. That one was from 1967; I think modern ones might be stronger.
