1996/97 Calgary Flames Pavel Torgayev home, set 1 (ps), #18, CCM size 54, very light wear, two small puck marks on right sleeve, paint transfers on back. Spelt "Torgajev" on jersey and COA. Team set stamp. Team COA signed by Lanny McDonald. Torgayev spent twelve seasons playing in the former Soviet Union, during the 1992-93 season, Torgayev took his skills to Finland. In his second year there he caught the attention of the Calgary Flames and they drafted him in the 11th round, 279th overall in 1994 entry draft. During the 1995-96 season he made his NHL debut playing in 41 games for the Flames. Over parts of two NHL seasons he played a total of 55 NHL games for the Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning, he scored 6 goals 14 assist 20 points +3 and 20 PIM's. Torgayev also played three seasons (1996-1999) playing in Switzerland where he provided a steady scoring touch, including leading his club in scoring in 1997-98. In 2000-01 he returned to Russia, where he played the final 5 seasons of his career with Nizhny Novgorad Torpedo and Cherepovets Severstal. He has represented the Soviet Union twice at the World Junior Championship in 1985 and 1986. He also represented Russia in the 1995 World Championship and is a one time Olympian, represnting Russia during the 1994 Olympics. Paint transfer near back #1.
