The original Qantas jetliner takes off from 16R at Sydney's Kingsford Smith International Airport on its final flight. It had been found abandoned at Southend in the UK, restored to airworthiness and flown back to Australia for preservation in the Qantas Founders Museum in Longreach, Queensland. Three hours after this take-off, the aircraft landed in Longreach, and sadly it will never fly again. However visitors to the museum will be able to tour this aircraft along with other historic Qantas aircraft.
