Age: 11 years Gender: Female Color: Black/White Weight: 49 lbs Variety: Bench/Show-bred Meet our beautiful senior girl, Abby. Abby's family brought her to a local shelter because they were moving or travelling, or something along those lines. Seniors are considered unadoptable at most shelters, but a big-hearted employee contacted ESRA to save her life. And, here she is. Abby just arrived. She is having a rough time with all the upheaval in her world. Abby is VERY confused and, quite frankly, she is hearbroken. It would bring tears to your eyes listening to her cry out loud like a baby in a state of panic as she approaches everyone and every car in search of her family. Perhaps if her owners could witness this for themselves, they may have reconsidered their decision to abandon her. But, Abby is a healthy, strong and fairly active dog. It appears that she has been well-cared for during her life. She could stand to shed a few pounds; some lite food and daily walks should take care of it. Her thryoid was checked and is normal. Her vision may be slightly impaired, but nothing unusual for a gal her age. Abby would probably be happiest where she has company much of the day. She seems to be fine with other dogs, as well.
