Album Info:

Age: 1 year Gender: Female Color: Liver/White Weight: 35 lbs. Variety: Field-bred Shyla is a beautiful Springer of field-bred lines. She has the petite frame and the fieldie bounce we all love! Her owner was not able to take care of her anymore so she entered rescue. She is a great girl who has been around other dogs, cats, and chickens. She wasn't happy to be around other dogs recently, but she was in heat and everybody was getting in her business. She is now spayed and will soon enjoy being around other dogs again. Right now she does not want to play with them. She just wants to be left alone and cuddle up with a nice person. Shyla is incredibly affectionate. It was hard to drive when I drove Shyla to the vet, as Shyla kept giving me kisses and leaning up against me. She was wonderful at the vet's office, even for getting her temperature taken! She loved each staff person. She has really bonded to her foster mom and feels there is no one else in the world when her foster mom is around. Shyla is scared of some people. She met a very nice lady who must have reminded her of someone else, because she would not let the lady get near her. She showed extreme fear and submissive behavior, with submissive urination. She would not even make eye contact. Because of this incident, we want to do a lot more socialization for Shyla. She does cower when meeting new people and puts her nub of a tail between her legs, but she still seeks them out and wiggles. So she needs a lot more experience meeting more people and going more places. She has not had much obedience but is very smart and has since learned sit and off. She loves to jump up, but not the way most dogs do. She wants to climb up on you and hug. We are trying to teach her not to jump up, and instead just let her climb into your lap when you are sitting. Shyla is in great health and is up to date on all preventatives. She is recovering from her spay and has to stay quiet for a little bit. She will be an active, athletic family pal. She will be one of the most loyal dogs you'll meet. She just needs a little TLC and time.
