Age: 4 years Gender: Female Color: Liver and White Weight: 40 lbs Variety: Bench Bred Mallory has had FHO surgery on her damaged hip and is now recovering nicely in her foster home. She's been an incredibly sweet girl through both the transition into foster care and through the surgery. Her continued gentle disposition in light of the pain of a bad hip and discomfort from post-surgery physical therapy really speaks to her temperament. After a few more weeks taking it easy on her favorite bed, we expect Mallory to feel better and be running around pain free. Please stay tuned as we continue to update you on her progress! 9/11/07: Mallory came to ESRA when her people were no longer able to care for her. Although they loved her, they weren't able to give her the care that she needed; as a result, she arrived in foster care an underweight, flea ridden, matted, stinky mess! Now things are looking up for Mallory - she has regular meals, lots of doggie siblings to keep her busy, and lots of love from her foster parents. She's no longer itchy and is starting to gain weight. This pretty girl is housetrained, good with other dogs, and good with older children. She's not good with cats! Mallory is currently on pain meds for hip dysplasia and the resulting arthritis that has developed in her rear knees. Before she is placed in her adoptive home, Mallory will be having FHO surgery to relieve the pain in her hips. Please stay tuned as we keep you updated on her progress.
